Des put my very anxious daughter at ease from the first lesson with his great sense of humour and supply of sweets! His calm approach was just what she needed to enable her to pass her test. Would highly recommend Des to anyone, but particularly to those who are nervous drivers.

Anyone who knows me knows how much of a challenge it can be to get me to learn even the simplest of things, but not with Desy.

In just six months, Des transformed me from a very nervous driver into someone who passed the driving test on the first attempt. I cannot thank him enough. I began with little to no confidence in my driving abilities, but through his exceptional instruction, I became not only test-ready but also fully prepared for real-world driving.
Des is friendly and creates an inviting and enjoyable learning environment. His patience and understanding are unparalleled. Whenever I struggled with a particular aspect of driving, he listened attentively and tailored solutions to fit my needs. As someone with ADHD, I sometimes struggle to process road signs quickly, Des taught me to slow down a bit earlier, especially at roundabouts. He also recommended using the right-hand lane if I was unsure after passing a sign, along with helping me break down each driving task step by step.
I highly recommend Des to anyone seeking a skilled and compassionate driving instructor. His teaching abilities, supportive atmosphere, and unwavering patience make him truly exceptional.

Des is a brilliant instructor and really easy to easy to get along with. He also always has fruit shoots (or fruity blasts!😂) and sometimes sweets if you’re lucky! I always looked forward to my lessons and had lots of fun, they were always laugh. I would recommend Des to anyone of any ability as he is patient and calm, and he prepares you for the real world and becoming a confident driver not just passing your test. Thanks to Des I was able to pass first time with one minor.

Such an amazing instructor. I was very scared to start off with due to major anxiety but Des really helped me with building my confidence! It definitely showed when I managed to pass first time! Would definitely recommend to everyone.

Des is a great driving instructor. I was a nervous wreck to start with but he put me at ease straight away. We regularly used the route that my examiner took me on for my test so I was comfortable and confident on what to do and where to go etc. Des concentrated on any areas I found problematic, including things that wouldn't come up on my test. Des taught me how to drive and not just pass and found space for me to take an extra lesson each week. I passed my test first time and still hear his voice while driving after passing.

The only person to thank for anything I’ve learnt in driving is Des. I first came to driving with Des through him already starting to teach a good friend of mine on how to drive, through hearing of her positive experiences and the fact that I heard he gave out sugary snacks it seemed like a perfect arrangement 😂
Des is an extremely patient, calm, and kind person especially taking into consideration my original ability in driving. In hindsight I have seen significant progress made especially reverse parking which I initially dreaded. I’ll be the first to say that I didn’t take to driving the quickest but though Des’ consistent weekly guidance and encouragement I was able to complete a test (whilst Des drank cranberry juice in the waiting room) and pass on my first attempt in Chelmsford today. Through myself and evidence of other students it is clear that Des 100% deserves his grade A title and reputation
Thank you Des for your tuition (plus your terrific jokes ), I really enjoyed our lessons which I will definitely miss, and thank you also for allowing me to learn in your day-to-day car.

Des is a fantastic instructor. I honestly could not have passed without his help and patience. I came to driving late - just before my 40th birthday - having built it up in my mind as a huge hurdle that I was nervous that I couldn't get over.
Des built up my confidence and showed me I could do it. I really enjoyed our lessons, and I passed first time!
Des is a lovely man and I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking to learn to drive. My son turns 17 soon and there's only one man we will be going to for his lessons too.

Des was recommended to me by a friend of mine and I’m very glad I took their advice; I couldn’t recommend him highly enough! Des’ calm demeanour always helped me feel at ease and if things sometimes didn’t go to plan he’d always be able to offer encouragement. He will not only get you to pass your test but he will get you to a good standard as he is very thorough. On top of that, we had some great laughs too. You’re a top man Des, thank you for everything.

Just passed my driving test first time and couldn’t have done it without Des! He’s not Grade A for no reason. Des made me feel comfortable in the car from my very first lesson, he was so patient (despite me not being the best student) and took time to explain things until I fully understood. Not only does Des make the lessons enjoyable and always makes time to have a laugh, he guarantees you are fully confident in not only getting through the test but driving afterwards too. I would 100% recommend him to anyone looking to start learning to drive. I will miss my lessons and touching just about every button in the car. Thank you so so much!

Des is an amazing instructor and always a good laugh. If I was ever teary or annoyed he wouldn’t pressure me and would make sure I was ok whilst making some jokes to cheer me up. I couldn’t recommend Des more! Gonna miss the laughs and amazing lessons!

I had put off learning to drive for a long time after trying with a few instructors when I was 17 and finding it too nerve wracking. Then at 23 I started lessons with Des, he was very calm and patient with me even though I made a lot of silly mistakes and found learning to drive very difficult. He is an excellent instructor who is also very funny and easy to get along with, I would honestly recommend him to anyone. Thanks Des I'll miss ya :)

Thanks to Des I passed my test first time on 19th July, due to covid and various lockdowns I had been driving with Des for 18 months and would thoroughly recommend him to anyone and everyone!! While he could sometimes be a little late to lessons (cough cough) his teaching style makes up for it all. I think Desy’s top tips will stay in my head for ever, he is extremely patient even when you make silly mistakes when you should know better!! He doesn’t just teach you how to pass your driving test but how to actually drive.

I was able to pass my driving test first time with only one minor fault thanks to Des. I went with Des as my instructor because he had helped my brother pass first time years ago and I can safely say we made the right choice as he was calm, patient and helpful even on the days where I was useless.

I decided to learn with Des as he was recommended to me by numerous people – all had passed their driving tests first time with him! I 100% made the right decision by choosing to learn with Des. He was very patient, and he made me feel at ease when I was learning to drive. He was very funny too, which made learning to drive far more enjoyable.
I managed to pass my driving test two days ago on my first attempt, which I was incredibly nervous about. Des reassured me that I could do it, and I did – all thanks to him!

Waited until I was mid 20s to learn to drive due to finances/time/nerves.
My sister passed with Des about 7 years ago so when I started learning to drive I went with Des.
I took my sweet time learning, but Des was so patient and helpful and we really did have a laugh together. He helped me build up my confidence so that on 11th December 2019, I finally passed. Over 9 months on, I can say I enjoy driving and its one of my greatest achievements. Can't thank Des enough. Would recommend him to anyone. -
Des was my only instructor when I was learning to drive, he always made me feel comfortable in the car and was able to feel calm and laugh about the mistakes and learn from them rather than fearing being behind the wheel the next lesson! I and many of my other friends had passed first time with Des, he does not trick you for money like other learning schools and will put you for your test as soon as your ready, Des prepares you for driving after your test rather than just teaching you how to pass! I always felt at ease with lots of chatting, it now feels very weird to not have a laugh with him now i drive alone, Really Recommend

Passed first time with Des and within 3 months! He is very funny and would always have a joke around with him whilst learning how to confidently and safely drive. He is very easy to get along with. Des was my second driving instructor after my first instructor who taught me the wrong things and refused to book me in for a test. Within 2 months of driving with Des he helped me fix the things I had been taught wrong. I passed my test first time with Des within the 2 months and was an amazing instructor. Highly recommend to anyone who has had a bad experience with driving or is about to start driving for the first time. A great instructor and a great guy, cheers Des!

Passed first time with Des, he creates a very calm happy driving environment with his amazing jokes and singing and you never feel like you have done something wrong. He has lots of good tips to make you a safe but confident driver. would definitely recommend Des, thanks !!

Des was my only driving instructor and every lesson I felt comfortable driving in the car knowing he was there to help me. On my first lesson I didn’t know anything about driving but as soon as I felt comfortable I was driving around learning all of the stages. He is such a chilled and calm person who won’t stress about anything, if you do anything wrong he won’t get annoyed he calmly tells you what to do next time and then he takes you back to that place so you can correct yourself. He made me feel confident with driving and he knew how to encourage me to try harder things each week. He’s a chatty man who loves a laugh and makes you feel at ease. I passed first time with him and couldn’t recommend anyone better than Des.

After having a pretty bad experience with a previous instructor and having completely lost all confidence, Des patiently and expertly guided me towards passing 1st time last month. It was an absolute pleasure learning with Des, he has a way of making you feel comfortable from day one, and he knows how to have a laugh as well as get down to the serious stuff, which is always explained in a clear, understandable manner, with helpful ways of learning and remembering things. I went from dreading lessons to looking forward to them each week, I couldn’t recommend Des any more highly, lovely guy and brilliant instructor!

Des is a apserlutly fabulous instructor! He has taught me so much and allowed me to feel safe and confident whilst driving. He is open, funny, reassuring and overall brilliant. I was nervous about leading to drive but Des explained things in a way that I understood and was happy to go over things we had previously covered ensuring that I felt completely ready for my test. I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone wanting to learn to drive!

Iv'e had two driving instructors since i have started driving and its safe to say that Des was by far the best. he is a fantastic driving instructor with a lot of patience,he is fun to be around and you can just have a laugh with him

When I started learning to drive with Des, I was super nervous I used to get panicked about every situation and forever stalling the car or just making weird jumpy movements that jolted us all over the place. Safe to say after a few lessons Des was able to start to rid me of my driving demons and give me more faith in myself. He teaches in a unique way that I’m sure most will agree just puts you at ease in the car. He is patient and understanding and will explain why you went wrong and how to correct it. He’s always up for a laugh or a good story, and has a beautiful singing voice (but he shouldn't quit his day job). I would highly recommend Des as a driving instructor to everyone, he definitely deserves his A grade rating, but don't tell him his ego is big enough. Thanks for all you did for me Des, made my life 100% easier. Passed first time with only 1 minor.

where do i begin? Des is something special, i was never confident with my driving abilities, even down to the test day, but through everything Des always reassured me, was always patient with me and his explanations were perfect. whenever mistakes were made, not once was any anger shown, again always remaining consistent to work with confidence levels.
his humour levels are beyond me, always up for a laugh and a chat, one of the best instructors going couldn't recommend anymore. thank you for everything des it means the world to us all. i love his music too, especially if your a fan of any genre -
Des is a top bloke and a top instructor. Had a couple instructors before him that just weren’t working for me, but Des changed that and I feel like a much better driver due to his constructive criticism and way of learning. He got rid of the speed demon inside me. Couldn’t recommend him more. Thanks for everything!

Cannot recommend Des enough, Des is the absolute best Driving Instructor, kind, patient, funny and will make you feel so at ease even if your really nervous. Explains everything so well and always give constructive criticism. I passed first time as did my friends who I recommended. You really won’t regret learning with Des, absolute Top Bloke, oh and great choice in Music !!!!!
